A celebrated figure in the field of law, Mr. Huston has accrued nearly 20 years of professional excellence in nursing home abuse and neglect. The owner of Churchill Huston Law, LLC, since 2016, he previously served as an attorney with the Maher Law Firm from 2008 to 2016; Kane & Silverman, PC, and Haggerty & Silverman, PC, from 2007 to 2008; Wilkes & McHugh from 2004 to 2006; and the Defender Association of Philadelphia from 1999 to 2004. In his current position, he focuses on nursing home and assisted living facilities abuse and neglect, as well as brain injury law, wrongful death and medical malpractice. Alongside his career endeavors, Mr. Huston has acted as a teacher of deposition skills at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
In preparation of his career, Mr. Huston first formal education, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1994, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Beasley School of Law at Temple University in 1999. He has been admitted to practice by the New York State Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
A respected voice in the legal industry, Mr. Huston maintains affiliation with several industry-related organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He has also given back to his community, working as an affiliate of pro bono work for Supportive Older Women’s Network.
In recognition of his accomplishments, Mr. Huston has been awarded several accolades throughout his career. Named a Rising Star by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers in 2008 and from 2010 to 2012, he has also been named a Super Lawyer in 2013, and again in 2017. However, the highlight of his career has been when he held a Philadelphia hospital and nursing home accountable for the wrongful neglect of a patient, resulting in a $6 million verdict, the largest of its kind in the state of Pennsylvania.
Attributing his success to hard work and having a supportive family, Mr. Huston delved into his profession due to his desire to help others and make the legal system more accountable and trustworthy for everyone involved in the legal process. The proud father of two children, Mr. Huston enjoys playing soccer, fishing and spending time at the beach in his spare time.
