With more than 45 years of legal experience, Mr. Wyrsch has been president of the firm Wyrsch, Hobbs & Mirakin since 1988. He began working at the firm as an associate and moved into an of counsel role in 1972. He held this position until 1977, and then he was made partner in 1978. Throughout his career he has also developed as a writer and educator. He attributes his successes to the senior lawyers who have mentored him along the way and remaining passionate about the law. Mr. Wyrsch is known for his hard work and his ability to brush off intimidation and go after his goals.
Mr. Wyrsch began his career by earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame in 1963. He continued at Georgetown University, receiving a JD in 1966, later attending the University of Missouri to earn an LLM. He was admitted to the Missouri State Bar in 1966, and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th Circuits, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
An expert in the field, Mr. Wyrsch has maintained affiliation with a variety of professional organizations. He is a member of with the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation, the American College of Trial Lawyers, the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Litigation Counsel of America, the American Bar Foundation, and The Missouri Bar.
Mr. Wyrsch has been recognized for his achievements with such honors as being named to Top Ten Lawyers and Best of the Bar with the Kansas City Business Journal. He has also received the Sean Brian Justice Award from the Midwestern Innocence Project & Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Outstanding Alumnus Award from Springfield Catholic High School. Mr. Wyrsch has also received a Lifetime Achievement Award which he dedicates to his wife, Darlene.
