An expert in the legal industry, Mr. Owen has served as a partner of Cohne Kinghorn PC since 2014, where he practices in the areas of federal taxation, trust and estates, health care law and business organizations. In addition to this role, Mr. Owen began working as the administrative law judge for the Utah Department of Environmental Quality in 2017. Since 2012, he has been a hearing officer with the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission for the Utah State Board of Education and the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation. Prior to obtaining these roles, he worked as an associate with Watkiss & Saperstein, and with Reynolds and Arnold.

Mr. Owen began his path to become a lawyer by earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkley in 1973. He continued at the University of Utah to receive a JD in 1977. He has been admitted to practice by the Salt Lake County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Utah State Bar, as well as before the United States District Court for the District of Utah, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Throughout his career, Mr. Owen has written for various law publications. He was the comment editor and a contributor to the Utah Law Review, and in 2010, 2012 and 2017, he published pieces with Real Estate Taxation. Mr. Owen holds an AV-Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized for his work with numerous awards.
