Kevin J. Loechl, Esq, Principal at Bird, Loechl, Brittian & McCants, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Corporate and Securities Practice.
Mr. Loechl has been practicing law for 24 years, and what separates him from others is that he is a people person. He tries to develop deep relationships with his clients, understanding them and their values and needs. Mr. Loechl has a strong faith which shapes his thinking about people. He loves learning new things, solving new problems, and enjoys challenges. His definition of success is impacting people and wanting the law practice to be uplifting and helpful so they can fulfill their calling in life. Mr. Loechl is now the principal as well as head of the corporate and securities practice at his firm.
An alumnus of Calvin College, Mr. Loechl earned a BA in political science in 1991, and went on to complete a JD at the University of Chicago Law School in 1994. While at Calvin, he was a senator and student body president of the Calvin College Student Senate. He was admitted to practice in Illinois, and later in the state of Georgia. Mr. Loechl entered the field as an associate of the banking and corporate finance practice group at Baker & McKenzie. He went on to the firm’s corporate and securities practice from 1997 to 2002, and transitioned into his current role in 2003. Mr. Loechl also spent three years as general counsel of Ronald Blue & Co. LLC in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mr. Loechl advises budding lawyers to have a good sense of who they are as a person and what they want to be, because the law can be overwhelming at times. He was inspired by a close family friend who was an attorney, and is very proud of working as general counsel for two companies whose owners had good character and integrity. Mr. Loechl has supported numerous industry and civic groups, including the Georgia Center for Opportunity on the board of trustees, and with the Atlanta Leaders Group as a former president. He also enjoys plants and horticulture, growing flowers and herbs and experimenting with them. For potential colleagues and clients, his name is pronounced “leck-ell.”
