Kathleen A. Kohl, Retired Lawyer, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Criminal Law.
Now retired, Ms. Kohl has had a prolific career in governmental positions and academia, notably serving with the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and for several American universities as a professor of environmental and criminal law. In her most recent position, she was a senior regional criminal enforcement counsel for the Office of Regional Counsel in Dallas, Texas working concurrently as a special assistant to the U.S. Attorney in Pecos, Texas. Ms. Kohl has succeeded from a deep desire to make a difference, no matter how small, and attributes her success to superb mentoring and advanced education.
Ms. Kohl holds a BS in psychology from Memphis State University, now the University of Memphis, and a JD from the Loyola University School of Law. In 2010, she also completed a BS in neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas. She followed her father’s footsteps into the law, initially with private practice and the IRS, followed by numerous satisfying trials that made a difference for people adversely impacted by civil rights violations and environmental crime. Ms. Kohl is a recipient of an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, and has appeared in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.
