Since 2002, Mr. Hund has been the principal attorney of his firm, after serving as a partner of Focht, Hughey, & Hund in Wichita from 1984 to 2002. He is most proud of his involvement in the case of Anderson v. New England Life Insurance, and is also proud of the $1 million settlement he won for his client in Cleveland v. Long. Mr. Hund is a recipient of an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, and was named 2006 Best in the U.S. by Martindale-Hubbell, as well as one of the Best Lawyers in America every year since 1998.
Born to Edward J. and Josephine A. Hund in Beloit, Kansas, Mr. Hund’s mother takes credit for his career as attorney, having taught him how to argue. He also attended Creighton University, and earned an AB in political science from Hays College in 1967, followed by a JD at Washburn University Law School in 1971. From 1968 to 1974, Mr. Hund served to the rank of first lieutenant with the Kansas Army National Guard. Among many notable roles, Mr. Hund has been a deputy county attorney, a member of the board of editors for the Washburn Law Journal, and chairman of the Legacy of Justice Foundation since 1999. In his free time, Mr. Hund enjoys tennis, pickle ball, and flying, which he has done for over 30 years.
