Joe Savage, Attorney at The Joe Savage Law Firm, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Medical Law.
Mr. Savage is now a lecturer in law, medicine, and insurance with the U.K. College of Law, as well as a teaching of continuing legal education programs in his home state of Kentucky. He started his own education as a pre-med student, but decided to pursue law, and ultimately decided to deal in medical issues as a lawyer, forming a good blend of everything he knew. Mr. Savage has been named 2011 Lawyer of the Year in Kentucky by Medical Malpractice Law, and was inducted into the University of Kentucky College of Law Hall of Fame in 2003.
An alumnus of the University of Kentucky College of Law, Mr. Savage earned a JD in 1964 and further completed a LLM from the Harvard Law School in 1965. He is a certified civil trial law advocate and has been running his private practice for 42 years. Mr. Savage is a former president of the Kentucky Bar Association and holds a seat on the board of directors of the Trinity Hill Methodist Church as well as the board of governors of the Kidney Foundation. He has also supported the Florence Crittinden Home, the International Society of Barristers, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and is a former chairman of the Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission.
Mr. Savage is also the recipient of a Justice Thomas B. Spain Award, and named Outstanding Lawyer of Kentucky and one of the Best Lawyers in America by the American College of Trial Lawyers. In particular, he has specialized in medical malpractice, and passes on these experiences as an educator. Mr. Savage is the proud father of Susan, Scott, Philip, and Nicholas with his wife, Christina.
