Cynthia Chen Sadowski, Esq., Legal Counsel at the Walt Disney Company, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Entertainment Law.

As an assistant principal counsel of the Walt Disney Company, Ms. Sadowski has put in the hard work, optimistic outlook, and a focus on solutions, not problems, that has brought her success. She wanted to be an entertainment lawyer since she was eight years old, and achieved her dream as a lead attorney for Walt Disney Studios in drafting, negotiating, and closing a multi-million dollar deal to enable the first wave of installations for digital cinema equipment in theaters throughout the U.S. She has also been a part of numerous Disney movie premieres, including the first Pirates of the Caribbean film, Marvel’s The Avengers, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Ms. Sadowski is a Marquis Who’s Who Industry Expert, and the recipient of an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. She was born Cynthia Anne Chen to Joseph Tao Chen and Marjorie Wong Mishkin, and earned a BA in government from Pomona College, followed by a JD from Loyola Law School at Loyola Marymount University. She was admitted to practice in the state of California, and was welcomed by Disney as legal counsel of the El Capitan Theatre in 2000, as well as legal counsel of both the special events group and the publicity group at Disney. As a representative of the Walt Disney Company Legal Pro Bono Program, she has helped to finalize the adoptions of several foster children.

Since 2017, Ms. Sadowski has been a representative of the Disney Lawyers of Color with the California Bar Foundation, and has supported both the Lawyers of Color and Women Lawyers within the Walt Disney Company. She is currently responsible for all contracts in Walt Disney Studio’s movie premieres and special events for Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm, as well as the historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Ms. Sadowski is married to sports videographer and documentary filmmaker Jeremy Richard Sadowski. In her free time, she enjoys movies, concerts, live theatre, and going to Hawaii.
