He went on to complete an MA in 1976, and earned a JD from the Antioch University School of Law in 1980.  He is a former special assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, where he had firsthand experience in immigration law. Following his work in the government, Mr. DiRaimondo worked as a trial attorney with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, which was absorbed by other agencies in 2003.

Mr. DiRaimondo is currently a lawyer with DiRaimondo & Masi, with offices in Manhattan and in the Melville area of Long Island, New York.
