Frederick William “Bill” Wagner, Attorney at Wagner McLaughlin, PA, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law.
Mr. Wagner was a founding partner of Wagner, Cunningham & Vaughan from 1967 to 2015 and continues to represent clients in personal injury, wrongful death, aviation and products liability cases. He started his career in the U.S. Air Force, where he was an intelligence officer and served to the rank of captain. Mr. Wagner was happy to work for one of his mentors, the contingency lawyer Perry Nichols, and fell under the wing of Billy Gaither and Bill Colson. Ultimately, Mr. Wagner built a successful legal career of his own, and is now an emeritus member of the Florida Board of Bar Examiners and the American Law Institute.
Born to Adam and Nella Wagner, Mr. Wagner earned a BA from the University of Florida in 1955, and following his military service, he completed a JD, with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law in 1960. He is certified as a civil trial lawyer in the state of Florida, is a diplomate of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and was certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Wagner feels his success is due to hard work and good luck. He continues to contribute to professional journals and holds positions with the governing council of the American Law Institute.
Mr. Wagner is a former president of the American Association for Justice and the Florida Justice Association. He has founded and led numerous legal societies and is even a member of international associations, such as the Pan-European Organization of Personal Injury Lawyers and the Australian Lawyers Alliance. He is a life fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Pound Civil Justice Institute. In addition, he is one of the founders of and still active with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers in England. Mr. Wagner was honored with a 2012 Eagle Legend Award from the Florida Justice Association, was a 2011 Selected Counsel of the American Law Institute, and was granted the 1992 Perry Nichols Award from the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, to name a few of the many recognitions he has received. Mr. Wagner maintains an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He is the proud father of Alan, Darryl, and Thomas.
