Terrance L. Stinnett, JD, Vice President at Fremont Bank Corporation, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Lawyers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in law and law administration.
In addition to his role as vice president with Fremont bank, Mr. Stinnett has also served as the Fremont Bancorporation’s general counsel and secretary, utilizing his 47 years of experience as a California lawyer and as a longstanding member of the bank’s board of directors. He is also president and member of the board of Project Second Chance Inc., an adult literacy program with the Contra Costa Library. The program provides free, confidential instruction in reading, writing, and spelling, which empowers both native English speakers and learners of English as a second language to become more functional in a complex world.
Born to Lloyd Monroe Stinnett and Gertrude Stinnett in Oakland, California, Mr. Stinnett studied at Stanford University to earn a BS in 1962, and went on to complete a J.D., magna cum laude, from Santa Clara University in 1969. He served for one year as a law clerk in the California Court of Appeals in San Francisco, and was initially admitted to the bar in the state of California, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals in the Ninth Circuit. Later, Mr. Stinnett was admitted to the U.S. District Court in the Eastern, Central, and Southern districts of California and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1975. He entered legal practice as an associate of Hyman, Rhodes and Aylward in Fremont before working with Glicksberg, Kushner and Goldberg in San Francisco form 1972 to 1977. Notably, he was a member of Goldberg, Stinnett, Meyers and Davis in the city from 1977 to 2006.
After a successful traditional legal career, Mr. Stinnett joined Fremont Bank in 2007, and became vice president in 2013. He had been a member of its board of directors since 1990, and additionally served as vice chairman of the board of Fremon Bancorporation from 1998 to 2000. In addition, Mr. Stinnett has served on the board of fellows for Santa Clara University, and continues to hold a seat with its school law board and visitor’s board. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the California State Bar Association, and serves as chairman of the bench bar liaison committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Northern District of California for the Bar Association of San Francisco. Mr. Stinnett is the husband of Annette Taub Stinnett, and was selected for the pages of numerous volumes of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
