With years of experience in child advocacy and juvenile justice to her credit, Ms. Farrell has excelled as a child advocate attorney at Diercks Law since 2010. In this position, she handles cases concerning child welfare, truancies, and delinquencies as well as youth drug court and human trafficking court in the Denver area. Furthermore, she advocates for young clients facing prosecution as an adult and represents young citizens in custody court. Prior to her current role, Ms. Farrell was active for five years as a social worker, during which time she fostered her unwavering commitment for child advocacy.

To support her professional ambitions, Ms. Farrell pursued an education at the University of Texas at Austin, from which she earned a bachelor’s degree in history and social work in 2005. She continued her academic efforts at the University of Denver, from which she earned a Master of Social Work from their Graduate School of Social Work in 2009. She concluded her studies at the University of Denver soon thereafter, graduating from the Sturm College of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. In addition to these accomplishments, Ms. Farrell obtained her certification as a Child and Family Investigator.

Beyond her primary responsibilities, Ms. Farrell has participated in numerous endeavors outside of her immediate circles. Since 2021, she has contributed to the Soldier Family Readiness Group for the 324th Army Unit, a local nonprofit organization for military families for which she was appointed as the co-director. She has also served as a legal advisor for Blankets and Bears, Inc. and the board president for the Criminal Justice Legal Program for the Cherry Creek School District. Moreover, Ms. Farrell is incredibly proud of her ability to balance her personal and professional lives, as she is incredibly devoted to her loving husband and their three wonderful daughters.

Ms. Farrell has likewise been associated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise. She has been notably affiliated with the Colorado Bar Association, the National Association of Social Workers, and the National Association of Children’s Counsel. A former board member for the Colorado Juvenile Defender Center and a former member of the young professionals board for Denver Kids Inc., Ms. Farrell has recently found success as a board member for Optimus Youth and Star Girlz Empowerment. 

In light of her impressive undertakings, Ms. Farrell has accrued several accolades throughout her career. As a testament to her legal achievements, she was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers. She was also presented with the Jim Covino Advocate of the Year Award from the Colorado Office of the Child’s Representative. Driven by her sense of purpose, Ms. Farrell has attributed her success to the guidance of her esteemed mentors and the steadfast support of her family.

Ms. Farrell was inspired to enter the field of law from a young age, driven by her family’s experiences with adoption, the challenges within that system, and her empathetic desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children in the legal system. A firm believer that personal struggles and experiences can be utilized as powerful tools in assisting others in need, she affirms that grace and resilience are critical for enduring hardships, overcoming obstacles, and gaining inner strength.Looking toward the future, Ms. Farrell aims to continue fighting for the well-being of children, including establishing a foster home that accommodates both children and animals, while traveling in her spare time, seeking continued education, and bridging the gap between the law and social work through future insightful publications.
